Easter Weekend in France - Datchas Lodge

COLOURFUL EASTER EGGS, CREATED BY MY INLAWS

Hey loves! I hope you all had an amazing Easter Holiday! Me and my family travelled to Alsace for the weekend and I still am mesmerise by the experience I had! It is true, our eyes needed to travel. Not only I had an amazing family time, I came back with such a feeling of joy, totally inspired, absolutely fulfilled by the beauty and the atmosphere. And yep, I took so many pictures I really think I need sometime to sort them a little bit, before I can finally share with you here. My family laughed at me sometimes for being left behind when walking, trying to capture an old house, or a very nice dessert, small shop of chocolate, but hey! I really can't just leave it behind without something to look at once in a while after the holiday is over! It is all so beautiful! Even the first time when we step into the lodge where we stayed the whole weekend, I was totally blown away! Six hours sitting in the car felt so worth it. I present you Datchas Lodge, a chic place in a small cute La Baroche!

THE ENTRY

I was the one who went the last into the house. As soon as I step my foot in, I got really excited. I am not the only one, I guess. My family of 9, all of them were checking every part of the house like I did. Sometimes we crossed path and we look at each other and just said, wow..

So, Datchas Lodge is actually a big house consist of two small apartments. Each apartments has it's own living room, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. The bigger apartment can accommodate 6 people, and the smaller one has two bedrooms for 4. We ended up rented the whole house although we did not use the living room and kitchen in the smaller apartment, since the bigger one is more than enough for all of us. I really have to say that my sister in law Sarah, who organised this trip for us, has a really really good eye and taste.

LIVING ROOM

MY FAVORITE READING NOOK

This living room is absolutely a dream. I love the combination of decorating style, the choices of colors, fabrics, soft furnishing and all the little details! It's beyond words. I felt straight at home.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE DISPLAY

DEFINITELY MY MOST FAVE PIECES

The lady who own the place travelled a lot, and would bring some little pieces from her travelling to complete the decoration of the place. I really admired her totally incredible senses. It is so inspiring! What's not to love about a beautiful cozy place with some personal items from past experiences?

LITTLE DISPLAY IN THE KITCHEN

For me, one of the loveliest and amazing feature of this open kitchen is the clock, somehow someway with it's simplicity it completed the rustic modern kitchen without being to overwhelming, considering the size.

ONE OF THE BEDROOM UPSTAIRS. THOSE BLANKETS ARE ONE OF THE MOST COZY BLANKETS!

As you can see, the details are everywhere! At some point I thought I might feel overwhelmed, but I did not! Everything has been nicely 'executed' by the owner, I think, that you will just continuously spoiled with nice feeling of the grand theme.

I have travelled quite a lot I think. I have seen and stayed in many interesting places. I have to say just from the feature, the interior and the feeling I got, Datchas Lodge was the best so far that can give me such an experience of being home. Knowing that I might won't be able to be back sometime that soon (since it is quite pricey and basically too big for two), makes the impression and the memories stayed longer and stronger. I really hope (I believe) that my mother in law is feeling the same. Apart from celebrating Easter, travelling to Alsace is the children present to her for her 60th birthday last January. I bet this experience, the wonderful place we stayed, amazing dinner and nice strolling to some old small cities, and just the amazing time with her husband and children, is something that she will not ever forget. As I won't.

HAPPY EASTER LOVES!

Stay loved!
