THE versatile dress
I don't have five meters of wardrobe. I used to. No, seriously, I used to have a whole room as a walk-in closet. But that's another story.
Nowadays, as a regular mortal who loves dressing-up, I am living from 1,5 meters, where I fit everything, from coats to shoes, in a very organized way (thanks IKEA) and actually, honestly happy with it.
How did you ask? There are a few secrets. Right now I am about to tell you one.
I invested in versatile pieces, like this simple, yet having quite a classic character, rib dress from Uniqlo (Psst! it's currently on sale for 14,90 Euro) that you can mix and match, wear and re-worn for different occasions. In this case, the whole weekend, if you are crazy enough! Not really a rocket science, huh?
Office on Friday
I mean business, but hey, it's Friday!
Depends on where you work, you might be able to dress slightly casual to work on Friday as you slide slowly into that weekend mood. Perhaps a drink or two with a friend afterward.
So, throw a super soft shirt (Lyocell is ideal) under this dress and work on a couple of extra details. In this case, a cashmere blazer, a business-like bag, and a velvet heel.
Saturday girl's time
So the girl's time is on this Saturday?
Weather is beautiful and you are meeting one of your girls? Well, it's a fun time for an experiment. Instead of just wearing your favorite loafer or slip-on and cover the rest with a light jacket (might be a cool option, sure, but well..boring!) Why not wear err...trousers under it? Make this decision as one of your 'why the heck not?' moments. Don't limit yourself! Style it with leopard booties, a flared coat and one of your favorite bag, and voila! You are good to go!
So, your other half is suddenly being romantic and wants to take you out?
On a special occasion of going out together, why not opt out for an eye-catching silk coat to 'dress' the simple dress? A small bag, a velvet heel, and a minimal jewelry should do the rest.
So there you have it! What do you think? Try the ways with one of your dress, be creative, and let me know how it went!
